You are invited to enter the delicious and intriguing world of renowned American chef, Julia Child, on Friday, May 10th, from 7:00 to 9:00pm, at Morrisville United Methodist Church, 501 W. Maple Avenue, Morrisville.
Welcoming the Stranger, a local non-profit serving immigrants through education, is hosting an exciting fundraising event.
Actress Linda Kenyon will portray this culinary expert in a one-woman show, “Julia Says, ‘Bon Appetit’” by Clay Teunis.
After her performance, Ms. Kenyon will be available to answer questions in her role as Julia Child, as well as a highly regarded professional actress.
The cost to attend this fundraiser is $10.
Welcoming the Stranger is also announcing the debut of its first cookbook, “Taste the World: A Global Collection of Recipes and Remembrances Shared by the Students and Friends of Welcoming the Stranger,” in conjunction with the play.
Food, as a universal experience, unites us all. This book is written in WTS students’ own words, representing their best abilities in English and revealing their voices.
This collection not only provides recipes for beloved international dishes, but the experience of connecting with diverse authors through their personal anecdotes.
Tasting samples of several recipes from the book will be served as part of the evening’s refreshments.
The suggested contribution for the cookbook, truly a labor of love, is $20.
