The Old Barracks Museum’s annual summer camp has been a summer staple in Trenton for over 20 years.
This summer, three weeks of camp are offered for children ages 9-12: July 8th – 12th, July 15th – 19th, and July 22nd – 26th.
One week is offered for teenagers 13-16: July 29th – August 2nd.
This week-long day camp will introduce students from the ages of 9-12 to the most immersive and interactive method of learning about life during the Revolution and the amazing contributions of some of the first Trentonians.
Camp is Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:00pm, and takes place at the Old Barracks Museum, 101 Barrack Street, Trenton.
Campers learn music, dances, skills, and crafts that were important and necessary for life in the 18th century.
Campers make a stew lunch and visit the William Trenton House and the NJ State House.
A ceremony on Friday afternoon provides campers with the opportunity to show off all they learned to their families.
The Nicky Fifth Foundation has offered scholarships to children who reside in The City of Trenton to attend the Old Barracks Summer Camp.
The scholarship is based on interest and attitude and is not based on academic standing.
