Gourmet Getaway recap

On March 28th, nearly 300 residents and members of the Bucks County business community came out to celebrate the 26th annual Gourmet Getaway at The Warrington.

This event, which had a “Night at the Movies” theme this year, is organized by volunteers from the Women and Business Committee of the Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce, and all proceeds support the committee’s scholarship fund for women in the community who have overcome adversity and are pursuing a college education.

This year guests enjoyed food and beverages from more than 30 local establishments.

Through sponsorships and the sale of event tickets, raffle tickets, silent auction items, and wine corks this year’s event raised more than $23,000!

“It’s amazing to see the amount of support this event generates each year,” said event co-chair and Director of Foundation & Alumni Relations at Bucks County Community College, Jenny Salisbury. “Giving women in our community a hand up when they are working so hard to create a better life for themselves and their families is huge.”

Scholarships will be awarded at the annual Women in Business Scholarship Dinner at Spring Mill Manor on June 6th.
