Earth Day is an annual event celebrated on April 22nd. Worldwide, various events are held to demonstrate support for environmental protection.
First celebrated in 1970, Earth Day now includes events in more than 193 countries, which are now coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network.
In an effort to raise awareness, celebrate and give thanks to Mother Earth, Kalpulli Tlalhuitzilli (The Hummingbirds of the Earth Native Crew) has celebrated Earth Day in the public open space at the corner of Delmorr and Philadelphia Avenues in Morrisville, with native dances, music and the offering and planting of a tree for the past two years.
This year they are celebrating Earth Day on Saturday, April 20th, at 10:00am, with a tree-planting around noon. This event is open to the whole community to participate, bring offerings (fruit, water, and flowers) or just to watch.
