“Never Leave Home Without Your Sketchbook” Anne Kullaf will present her ideas on why a sketchbook is such a valuable tool for working artists. The sketchbook is the best way to build your observation skills and learn how to interpret things simply and effectively. Anne will demonstrate how to capture a nature study in watercolor by focusing on big shapes, getting the values right and not getting too distracted by details.
A plein air painter working in all media, Anne Kullaf is a professional fine artist and instructor, her paintings utilize the principles of drawing from direct observation and using bold, expressive brushwork to capture the essence of the subjects she paints.
Anne currently resides in Philadelphia and teaches drawing and painting in all media both privately and at the Wayne Art Center. She has taught at the Princeton University Art Museum, Edward Hopper House, the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey, and the Center for Contemporary Art.
