Twilight Wish celebrates 15th anniversary of first wish-granting with ‘Tuesdays with Lori’ legacy program

Fifteen years ago, on a bitterly cold January 16th, 2004, Twilight Wish Foundation granted its very first wish to Margaret Turner, an elderly nursing home resident who had wished for a headstone for her deceased son’s grave.

This wish was only possible thanks to many generous donors.
In celebration of this milestone, Twilight Wish has announced the launch of its first legacy program, “Tuesdays with Lori.”

“Tuesdays with Lori” is a wish-granting legacy program that honors the memory of Lori Radel and her love of Twilight Wish Foundation’s mission.
Lori personally granted several wishes to local low-income seniors.
She felt that seniors were a treasure and she wanted to give back to them after they had given of themselves throughout their lives.

Lori planned to retire early and dedicate her life to helping grant wishes to our most under served and oftentimes, forgotten and alone, seniors.
Sadly, she fought the effects of an autoimmune disorder for years and unexpectedly passed away in 2017, at the much too young age of 55. After her death, her family and friends were driven to create this new program in her memory to grant the wishes of our elders who are at the end of their life’s journey.

Lori’s son, Corey, named the program which was influenced by the book, “Tuesdays With Morrie,” which focuses on the individual and how important it is for all generations to value the lives of our elders and to honor their contributions toward paving the path for all of us.
Twilight Wish Foundation is a national nonprofit charitable organization whose mission is to honor and enrich the lives of deserving elders through wish granting celebrations that connect generations.
Since its founding in 2003, Twilight Wish has granted over 3,060 individual wishes to seniors throughout the U.S.

Twilight Wish grants wishes to seniors who are 65 and older or a permanent resident of a nursing home and earn less than 200% of poverty level.
