The Ancient Order of Hibernians is an Irish Catholic men’s organization that does charitable work in the Central Bucks community. Their motto is “Friendship, Unity and Christian Charity.”
The organization meets on the first Thursday of each month at the Maennerchor Club on Oakland Street, Doylestown, at 7:00pm.
The AOH has different fundraisers throughout the year. Their big contribution to the community is three times a year they donate food to New Britain food larder, A Women’s Place and St. John’s food larder in Ottsville.
They find out what the biggest need is and provide those items. The AOH offers a $1,000 scholarship to a student entering a Catholic high school and one for a student going on to college or a trade school.
They donate to Meals on Wheels and to Doylestown Hospital free clinic. They have helped some community members with needs at their homes.
The AOH is always looking for new members to join. For more information, check out their website at AOHDoylestown.com.
