Kiwanis empowers communities to improve the world by making lasting differences in the lives of children.
Nationally, Kiwanis Club of Washington Crossing-Yardley supports The Eliminate Project, to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus, a deadly disease that steals the lives of 34,000 innocent babies and women each year; and global elimination of Iodine Deficiency Disorders (IDD), the leading preventable cause of mental and developmental disabilities in the world.
Locally, Kiwanis Club of Washington-Crossing Yardley supports children of Bucks County by funding projects that create positive influence and provide the support needed to thrive including: Washington Crossing Community Christmas Tree Lighting, Washington Crossing Community Easter Egg Hunt, eight college scholarships for Pennsbury, Council Rock North, Council Rock South and Morrisville High School students, and Pennsbury High School Key Club.
Local community support includes Family Services Association of Bucks County, Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County, National Drug Take Back Day to help reduce opioid addiction, the Garden of Reflection 9/11 Memorial, Upper Makefield Fire Department Food Drive for the Penndel Food Pantry, Youth Orchestra of Bucks County, Rolling Harvest Food Rescue Internship, and Washington Crossing Historical Park Internship Program.
