County Line Quilt Guild was formed in 1987 to promote the art and quality of quilt making in an atmosphere of friendship and fellowship, as well as to serve the community through philanthropic projects.
The members include skill levels from beginner to experienced. Guests are welcome.
The Guild meets on the second Monday of the month September through June at 7:00pm at the New Britain Baptist Church, 22 E. Butler Avenue, Chalfont.
These meetings vary with speakers, demonstrations, hands-on projects, a quilt challenge, and celebrations.
Every meeting provides for members’ show ’n’ tell. Door prizes, fat quarter drawings, a yearly raffle basket, and refreshments keep the evenings busy.
Monthly the members support the church Food Pantry.
On the fourth Thursday of the month from 10:00am to 3:00pm at the New Britain Baptist Church, members serve residents of Bucks and Montgomery Counties by making quilts for children and for shelters, place mats for Meals on Wheels, fidget quilts for people with Alzheimer’s, and bags for those with walkers.
In spring 2020 County Line Quilters will present a Quilt and Fabric Art Exhibition. More than 400 people enjoyed the 2018 exhibition of 150 quilts plus boutique, vendors, raffles, door prizes, and cafe.
Membership is $30, due in September. Guests pay $5 per meeting.
