A Woman’s Place

Bucks County’s only domestic violence organization

A Woman’s Place (AWP) has proudly served Bucks County as the community’s only domestic violence organization for over 42 years.

All people deserve to be safe in their relationships and in their homes, so AWP offers comprehensive services for survivors of intimate partner violence to ensure that no one has to navigate the difficult road to safety, healing, and justice alone.

These services include 24-hour domestic violence hotline, 1-800-220-8116, 24-hour First Response crisis service, case management, supportive counseling, emergency shelter and supportive housing, legal assistance, and our children’s program.

AWP is a survivor-centered, trauma-informed agency that is welcoming to all.

AWP provides services to thousands every year, but those services are only the beginning.

A community without abuse is only possible if we do more than help survivors through their crisis.

A community without abuse is only possible if we do more than help survivors through their crisis.

In addition to the myriad crisis services AWP provides for survivors of intimate partner abuse, the agency also focuses on empowering those survivors to take back control of their lives and be active members of the community.

Empowering survivors economically, psychologically, and through civic engagement allows people to take back control over their own lives while also combatting the harmful stigma that sometimes isolates survivors.

All of this critical work supporting survivors works hand-in-hand with the equally important work of preventing abuse for future generations.

AWP reaches over 9,000 students and over 1,500 adults annually with healthy relationships and prevention programs.

This education and training helps to shape a new generation of allies and leaders – together we can transform our community from one where abuse is allowed to thrive in silence and darkness to one where we raise our voices and shine a light together.

If you need help, need to know your options, or just need to talk, please call 1-800-220-8116.

AWP’s twenty-four hour hotline is always free, private, and confidential.
