Meditation – it’s a simple practice with many benefits, however for some it’s extremely difficult to meditate alone.
Many people give up; not fully realizing the espoused benefits. Meditation with a group of people is a great way to overcome this and you will be supported by others who, like you, wish to establish or maintain a meditation practice.
In Yardley, a supportive and welcoming community (Buddhist Sangha of Bucks County), meets at 65 N. Main Street on Mondays at 7:00pm, and regardless of spiritual persuasion welcomes all and serves as that place of refuge and support for its attendees.
Spending the first hour practicing a lightly guided meditation, and the second optional hour learning from a variety of teachers in various Buddhist traditions and each other, the format of discussions are designed to enhance the understanding of what the Buddha taught (Dharma) so it can be practiced and applied in daily life.
Of course you don’t have to identify as a Buddhist to attend, people from all traditions and levels of experience are welcome!
There are comfortable benches and meditation cushions, plenty of parking, a handicapped entrance.
Meditation instructions are offered for those who request it, as well as on first Mondays of the month.
You are invited to this community and practice meditation together.
May you also find and awaken a deeper understanding of this life through practice, second hour Dharma discussions, and opportunities for compassionate community service.
