For many people, the approaching Christmas holiday does not bring with it the joy and happiness that is idealized in ads.
You may be facing a holiday after the death of a loved one or after a divorce.
Perhaps you have suffered through an emotional trauma.
Or you may feel pressured and overwhelmed by holiday preparations.
In recent years, many churches have reached out to people who feel sadness or stress during the holidays by adding Blue Christmas services to their worship offerings.
These services have a more quiet, meditative feel than a traditional Christmas service.
Yardley United Methodist Church, located at 300 Yardley-Langhorne Road, Yardley, will hold a Blue Christmas service on Sunday afternoon, December 16th at 4:00pm, with music, reading and décor that set the mood and focus on the comfort God offers during difficult times.
Bring family and friends who are also yearning for a quiet, reflective pause during the holiday season.
It will take place in the Choir Room on the second floor, reconfigured as an intimate chapel space.
