St. Mary Medical Center names new president

Last month St. Mary Medical Center announced the appointment of Lawrence Brilliant, MD, FACEP, as its new President.

Dr. Brilliant will continue St. Mary’s long legacy of providing quality healthcare as a center of hope and healing for the community.

Dr. Brilliant arrived at St. Mary in 2015 where he served as the hospital’s Medical Director of Emergency Services.

In early 2017, Dr. Brilliant was appointed as the hospital’s Vice President and Chief Medical Officer.

“It has been a genuine pleasure to work alongside Dr. Brilliant, he embodies the true spirit of this hospital – with a focus giving the people of Bucks County the care they need with the simple human kindness they have come to expect from St. Mary,” said Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic President and CEO, and former St. Mary President and CEO, James L. Woodward. “He has already proven to be a great leader in this organization, and I know our colleagues and patients are in good hands.”

A board-certified emergency medicine physician, Dr. Brilliant previously held medical management roles at Doylestown Hospital prior to joining the staff at St. Mary.

He is a Certified Physician Executive from the Certifying Commission in Medical Management.

Dr. Brilliant attended State University of New York at Stony Brook Medical School and completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at the Medical Center of Delaware.

“It is an honor to be named as St. Mary’s next President,” said Dr. Brilliant. “This organization is all about compassion for our patients, quality healthcare and ensuring that all are treated fairly and with respect. I look forward to upholding those traditions and leading my colleagues on a journey of growth and continued success.”
