The Bucks County Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) has been named the specific fundraising group for the Wreaths Across America organization’s event at Doylestown Cemetery in Doylestown, on December 15th.
Each December on National Wreaths Across America Day, the Wreaths Across America organization, whose mission is to Remember, Honor and Teach, coordinates wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as at more than 1,400 additional locations in all 50 states, at sea, and abroad. This year the Bucks County Chapter, NSDAR is honored to support and sponsor this event at Doylestown Cemetery to recognize and support veterans buried at this cemetery.
The event will begin at 11:00am with a brief ceremony followed by wreath laying on veteran’s graves.
The public is encouraged and invited to participate in this ceremony to pay special tribute to veterans.
The cemetery is located at 215 E. Court Street, Doylestown. The public may bring wreaths of their own to lay on a specific grave to honor and remember a specific veteran.
The Daughters of the American Revolution is a non-profit group, working to promote historic preservation, education, and patriotism.
