Celebrating retirement

John McMenamin (center) is honored with special commendations for his dedicated years of service to Lower Southampton Township during his retirement celebration held at Brookside Manor at Somerton Springs in Feasterville.

Presenting citations from the Pennsylvania Senate and House of Representatives, Lower Southampton and an American flag that flew over the Capital Building in Washington, DC are members of the board of supervisors (from left) Ed Shannon, secretary/treasurer, Keith Wesley, chairman, Ray Weldie, supervisor and Joe McFadden, vice chairman, who also served as emcee for the evening.

John is retiring after serving as chairman of the board of supervisors for four years and six as the township manager. Prior to serving in Lower Southampton he had a distinguished career as a Philadelphia firefighter, which included three terms as president of Local 22 of the firefighters union. Some 100 family members and friends, township officials and employees and invited guests were in attendance.
