‘Tis the season for pumpkin spice and everything nice, and as the crisp, cool autumn weather starts to reappear, fall festivals will begin to fill your calendar!
Fall is one of the busiest seasons for local farmers, and fortunately for Lower Makefield residents, there will be an abundance of options this year.
Local farms have been offering fall-themed agritourism events for years. Some are larger in scale and will continue to get bigger, while new options will pop up this year to offer a charming, boutique experience for families.
The hope is that you come out to pick a pumpkin from the patch and stay a while to enjoy the assortment of other activities.
Kids can enjoy finding their way through a corn maze, or climb up a tall mountain of straw to gleefully slide their way down.
Kids and adults alike can try their hand at roping a bull, navigate through a ‘spider web’ of rope, decorate a pumpkin, or race through a fun obstacle course.
Before heading home for the night, families can sip on warm cider or hot cocoa, eat a delicious snack, and then pose for a fall-themed photo shoot staged with mums, pumpkins, and cornstalks galore.
Whatever activities you choose, it will most certainly be an opportunity for families to spend quality time together and also feel a sense of community.
When deciding where to pick your perfect pumpkin this fall, choose a local farm to create those everlasting memories.
Farmers in our community take so much pride in what they do, and for some, these events are a way to keep their family’s legacy alive.
Every visit you make to a fall festival helps support a local farmer to continue doing what they are passionate about.
Happy fall y’all!
