As spring has finally arrived, the employees and owners of Big Oak Citgo closed shop for an afternoon to clean up their adopted island on the Delaware River.
During the early years, the team’s mission was to remove the tires that plagued the river.
While they’ve noted the decreasing number of discarded tires, trash continues to accumulate on the island.
“For us, it’s become a tradition and another meaningful way for us to contribute in our hometown,” says Mike Cooper, Big Oak’s Manager. “Plus, we all appreciate spending time on the river.”
