    Senior Games roundup

After two weeks of competition, the Bucks County Senior Games concluded June 14th, with a luncheon held at the Bucks County Community College, where medals were awarded for first, second and third place by age group in 23 events. Three hundred eighty adults ages 50 and older enjoyed friendly competition at locations throughout the county with a wide variety of events including: billiards, bocce, bowling, darts, golf, table tennis, quoits, tennis, track and field.

The competition also included popular “brain games” such as bridge, pinochle, and trivia.

The Senior Games are made possible by the collaboration of community partners. The Games are supported by the Bucks County Commissioners, organized by the Bucks County Area Agency on Aging, depend on the hard work of several volunteers and receive sponsorship from a variety of corporations and small businesses all of which are necessary to make an event of this size a success.

And yet, the most important contribution to the Games success is the participants themselves.

Participants of different ages and backgrounds come together to compete, try new things, and encourage one another.
