    BCWAC welcomes new board members

The board of directors of the Bucks County Women’s Advocacy Coalition welcomed two new members recently. Marcia Telthorster, of Doylestown, and Carol Shelly, of Furlong, began their one-year terms on April 23rd.

Kathleen Welsh Beveridge, newly elected president of BCWAC, said, “The Coalition is fortunate to have two such distinguished women serve as leaders. Their expertise in issues impacting women and families will surely benefit our mission. We are grateful to them for their time and dedication.”

Long active as a volunteer in local nonprofits, Marcia serves as chair of BCWAC’s Basic Needs Committee (housing and food insecurity).

She has chaired the Strategic Planning Committee of the Bucks County Workforce Investment Board, been a board member of the American Society of Healthcare Human Resources Association and their Advocacy Committee, and co-chaired the Bucks County Walk to Defeat ALS.

She is a March of Dimes “Woman of Achievement” honoree.

Carol serves on the board of Bucks County Community College and its Foundation Board.

She is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Association for Justice and the American Board of Trial Advocates.

She is a past president of the Bucks County Bar Association and currently serves on the board of trustees of the bar association’s charitable foundation.
