Legion Post receives charter for Riders Chapter

American Legion Post 317, located in Yardley, has started a Legion Riders Chapter. American Legion Riders chapters are well known for their charitable work, which has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for local children’s hospitals, schools, Veterans homes, and severely wounded service members.

Since 2006, Riders nationwide have participated in The American Legion Legacy Run to annually raise money for the Legacy Scholarship Fund, established to provide scholarships to children of U.S. military personnel killed since September 11th, 2001.

Last month, Pennsylvania American Legion Riders Vice President Holly Hill presented Post 317 Commander Ted Smith and newly-chartered Chapter President Gene Tecce with their charter.

The Post 317 Legion Riders are looking forward to participating in events that will assist in the raising of funds and volunteer hours to the goals of the Department and national charities.

For information or any interest in joining Yardley Post 317 Riders Chapter, call Ted Smith or Gene Tecce at 215-493-4388.
