The Bucks County Intermediate Unit (Bucks IU) is offering a new program in line with their continued expansion in STEAM Education. ‘STEAM Saturdays’ is designed to engage students in grades 1-8 in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math with the goal to inspire and encourage interest within our future generations in STEAM related skills and occupations.
This is achieved by developing their 21st century skills such as advanced problem solving, collaboration and teamwork, creativity and imagination, and critical thinking.
Each Saturday session will engage students in a different STEAM topic:
- March 3rd – Engineering and Design Thinking;
- March 10th – Robotics and Computer Coding;
- March 17th – Maker Kids (Creativity, Invention, and Production).
Students will be fully hands-on, utilizing interactive learning in classrooms facilitated by Pennsylvania-certified teachers.
Groups will be separated by grade levels (1-2, 3-4, 5-6, and 7-8) with target curriculum that has been specially prepared to be appropriate to each
All sessions will be held at the Bucks IU, located at 705 N. Shady Retreat Road in Doylestown, from 8:30 to 11:30am.
Students may register for any, or all, of the three sessions at a fee of $47 per Saturday (which includes all Eventbrite processing fees, instruction, materials, snack, and take-home information for families).
