Family-owned Meineke here for all your automotive needs

by Anthony DiMattia

It’s a family affair for Essix Automotive, owner and operators of five local Meineke Car Care centers.

“My father was into cars growing up,” said Jake Sharpe, company project manager. “He would be in and out of body shops as soon as he could hold a wrench.”

Patriarch Tim Sharpe’s passion for the automotive trade would help him, the oldest of 12, provide for his younger brothers and sisters, after learning how to work on diesel engines in school and in the Marines.

It’s that dedication and hard work that trickled down to his two children Jake and Audrey, who along with their mother and grandfather run the Meineke Car Care franchises.

“There’s nothing like sacrificing and succeeding in a business together as a family unit,” said Jake.

Tim, with his family behind him, decided to go into business. In 2016 he began his new venture by purchasing two Meineke shops before expanding to five in January 2017. Since then, the family has focused on offering customers everything from oil changes to replacing engines and transmissions.

“It’s the full gamut of automotive care,” Jake said. “If it isn’t a dent, we can fix it.”

Customers can be assured their vehicles are in good hands with five managers overseeing 14 professionally trained automotive technicians throughout the five locations.

“We will be coming back and recommending others to this shop,” said a reviewer on the company’s Facebook page after his mother’s car got a quick and inexpensive brake repair. “It’s so hard to find a place you can truly trust not to rip you off. Thank you again for being so kind and helpful to my mom.”

“With no appointment they were able to see me and rebalance my tire within an hour and didn’t even charge me … Great local spot,” according to a Facebook reviewer who came into the shop after hitting a curb.

“Excellent service and quick…will be stopping back now that it is under new owners,” another reviewer said.

Along with quality service, each car care center is offering the following automotive repair deals:

  • 50% off brake pads;
  • 10% off exhaust service;
  • $19.95 plus tax for basic oil change (includes oil and filter, 23-point inspection and tire pressure check);
  • $50 off any service over $500:
  • $20 off any service over $200;
  • $10 off any service over $100.
