    Laura Lomax promoted to Vice President of Programs at Pearl S. Buck International

    Janet L. Mintzer, President and CEO of Pearl S. Buck International, recently announced the promotion of Laura Lomax.

    Janet commented, “I am happy to announce the promotion of Laura Lomax from Director to Vice President of Programs. Laura is an asset to our team and has been instrumental in growing our programs – most especially Welcome Workplace. We’re excited about the future of this program, our organization, and Laura’s contributions going forward.”   

    Upon accepting the promotion, Laura commented, “After working at Pearl S. Buck International for three years and planting the seed for the intercultural training program, I’m thrilled to see it grow and to be a part of its success.” 

    Laura is responsible for overseeing the Pearl S. Buck house (a National Historic Landmark), exhibits, educational programs and intercultural initiatives at Pearl S. Buck International.

    The Welcome Workplace program, which she directs, is an intercultural educational training program for schools, businesses, law enforcement, and other organizations.

    The program provides staff training in the intercultural knowledge, skills, and insights needed to ensure cultural sensitivity, effective interpersonal relationships, and achievement of organizational goals.

    Laura earned her BA in Anthropology from NYU and her Foundations Certification from the Intercultural Communications Institute. She is licensed as a Qualified Administrator of the Intercultural Development Inventory assessment, and is certified as a trainer by the Emotional Intelligence and Diversity Institute.
