Andale Latino Grill announces foundation to fight childhood hunger

Reza and Mirna Ghassemi, owners of Feasterville-based Andale Latino Grill, recently formed a 501c(3) charitable organization called Andale on Wheels. The mission of Andale on Wheels is to provide healthy meals to children in underprivileged areas where a hot meal is often hard to come by.

A school bus, donated by generous patron Virjilio Mejia, will be remodeled to take on the function of a food truck and will sell meals to customers at Temple University, office parks and other popular venues as a means of establishing a self-sustaining revenue stream for the new non-profit.

The Ghassemi’s are looking to raise $100,000 in preparation for a February 2018 launch through the sale of signage on the bus to local business as well as independent donations.

The money raised will go toward remodeling the school bus and the costs associated with insurance, staffing, etc.

In addition to serving meals, Andale on Wheels will provide a location for doing homework and receiving tutoring through coordinated efforts of other community organizations.
