As part of an initiative to fight hunger in the community, ShopRite of Yardley will present their Second Annual Comedy Night on Sunday, September 17th from 5:00 to 10:00pm, at the William Penn Fire Hall, 123 Main Street in Hulmeville.
Last year brought about 130 people from the area out for this beneficial event. As part of ShopRite’s Partners in Caring organization, all proceeds benefit the Bucks County Housing Authority in aiding those who struggle to buy food.
As Rob Carpino of ShopRite expresses, “It’s eye-opening when you work with the food bank – you see more people than you’d think struggling with hunger in our community.” By participating in this event, you’re helping provide food to those in your community who wouldn’t eat otherwise.
Local Yardley resident and comedian, Chris Rich, is the headliner for the show, following comedy skits by Mike Stank and Jake Mattera.
“We chose a comedy night because it’s different,” Rob says. “We really hope to make this a regular, annual event, and want to see lots of people from the community coming out to support such a worthy cause.”
There will be a DJ providing music, so wear your dancing shoes! Tickets are only $35 per person and can be purchased at Guest Services in ShopRite, 1603 Big Oak Road in Yardley. This year, the Comedy Night’s food will be catered directly from ShopRite’s kitchen in an effort to fulfill the crowd.
Dinner begins at 5:30pm and the comedy show starts at 7:00pm. Following the comedy show will be basket raffles and a 50/50 drawing.
The event is BYOB. Bucks County Housing Authority is expected to make an appearance, so come out and see the excellent cause your support benefits.
