Community invited to addiction prevention and recovery event

New Hope-Solebury Cares is asking community members of all ages to put “All Hands In” for addiction prevention and recovery.

All are invited to a no-cost call to action event on Thursday, August 31st from 7:00-9:00pm at the Event Center by Cornerstone in New Hope’s Eagle Fire Company, 46 N. Sugan Road.

“We are heartened by those who have stepped up to partner with us, especially our sponsor, Cornerstone Clubs for donating their space and sharing our vision of community health,” said Andrea de la Flor, NHS Cares Executive Director.

FriendsMATTer, a local non-profit organization working to prevent addiction recovery relapse, and Trinity Church of Solebury are also partnering, along with many others.

The goals are to educate the community about local substance abuse prevention and recovery efforts and provide specific ways to get involved. The event will feature personal stories from community leaders and a hands-on tribute activity to remember and acknowledge friends and loved ones impacted by addiction.

Discussion sessions will promote networking and collaboration.

“This event will be uplifting and bring the community together. We have an amazing community full of resources and people who are quick to offer support in times of need. We want to harness the love and care for our community and for each other and inspire people to turn it into action,” Andrea continued.

The organization is currently in need of additional sponsors and volunteers to help with event marketing, planning, and onsite logistics.

New Hope-Solebury Cares is a nonprofit organization focused on youth substance abuse prevention.

They work with youth, parents, school leaders, law enforcement members, the media, and other community representatives to carry out the work. Those interested in sponsoring the event, or volunteering before, or during the August 31st event, are asked to contact info@nhscares.org.
