Spend the extended July 4th weekend at Washington Crossing Historic Park (PA) with three days of outdoor fun and historic activities.
- Sunday, July 2nd – A full day of activities in the large field across River Road and diagonal to the park’s Visitor Center. The day starts with a free Classic Car Show from noon to 4:00pm (award announcements at 3:30pm). Those wishing to register a car in the show should visit WashingtonCrossingPark.org/carshow. That will be followed by an Old-Fashioned Community Picnic starting at 6:00pm.
Attendees are invited to bring their own dinner, picnic supplies and lawn games. Prizes will be awarded for Most Creative Picnic Display, Most Delectable Menu, and Best in Show. At 8:00pm, Broad Street Brass will hold a free concert featuring patriotic music and other selections. The day will end with a spectacular firework’s show at 9:00pm.
- Monday, July 3rd – Enjoy a full day of outdoor recreational activities sponsored by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
- Tuesday, July 4th – See living historians demonstrate their crafts, tour historic buildings and see a military encampment from noon to 4:00pm. A highlight of the day will be the reading of the Declaration of Independence at 12:30, 1:20, 2:30 and 3:30pm. Admission is $8 for adults (age 12 and over), $4 for children (ages 5-11) and free for those under age five. All proceeds support programming in the park. Parking is free and this event is held rain or shine. Refreshments will be available for purchase.
