Fairless Hills Garden Center celebrating 20 years of growth and success

A business which started out in 1996 selling seasonal plants in the parking lot of a produce store has grown over the past 20 years into one of Bucks County’s most popular garden centers!

“Customers come from near and far for the great quality, selection, service and prices,” says Gary Steinberg, owner of Fairless Hills Garden Center, who took over the family business in 2003 after working his way through school.

Since then the business has grown by leaps and bounds, keeping Gary and his family who are still actively involved in the business, very busy. Over the next several years Gary worked seven days a week, adding more plants and products until the place was bursting at the seams.

It was about this time that Manager George Schick came on board. The garden center was in need of help with a large delivery, and a customer said he would send his son, who was on school break, to help. This not only turned into a job offer for George, but he also met his future wife, Chasidy, there that day.

She was a cashier, also working her way through college. They now have three daughters together.

George is usually found juggling many tasks, including sending out e-news letters, posting pictures on their Facebook page, helping customers and directing the crew. The year 2014 was very busy year for the Garden Center as they renovated the old Pathmark building next door and opened a 20,000 square foot garden shop.

They also joined TrueValue® as a Home & Garden showplace store. They now have access to TrueValue’s extensive selection of gardening tools and accessories, as well as birding and outdoor living items, such as patio sets, grills and much more!

The store also carries many items for maintaining your home, vehicles, and equipment. In addition, gift plants and seasonal décor items are available. In the winter, the center carries storm supplies, including firewood, wood pellets, snow blowers, ice melts, sleds and other snow toys.

The time has gone by fast and Fairless Hills Garden Center thanks all their loyal customers, growers and suppliers, and employees, present and past for their continued success.
