YWCA Bucks County launches 2013 ‘Back To School’ Program for disadvantaged children

Each year YWCA Bucks County, with the help of the community, presents more than 300 YWCA summer campers and summer YWCA Lunch and Library Program participants from low-income families with gifts of new backpacks and school supplies.

The YWCA is now reaching out to area companies, organizations and individuals and asking them to help children in need by collecting back-to-school supplies to give kids a fresh start to the new school year.
There are two ways companies and individuals can get involved:

  1. Collect donations of school bags and other back-to-school supplies in the workplace and then make arrangements to drop them off at the YWCA Program Outreach Center in Trevose.
  2. Make a monetary donation online at www.ywcabucks.org. One can also mail in a donation to YWCA Bucks County, 2425 Trevose Road, Trevose, PA 19053. YWCA staff will shop for these supplies with these tax-deductible donations.

For additional information and details on timelines for making a drop off or a monetary donation, call the YWCA at 215-953-7793, ext. 104 or 113, or e-mail klynch@ywcabucks.org.
